Charlotte neighborhoods for families
No single best-for-families score. We surface owner-occupancy, canopy, walk, and housing metrics, plus school lists on profiles. Shortlist here, then verify CMS assignment at the parcel.

What we optimize for
Owner-occupancy, tree canopy, walk, and housing indicators, plus nearby-school lists on each profile. No single "best for families" score. No school letter grades.
CMS assignment is parcel-specific. Never assume a marketing name equals one elementary.
How the table ranks
Composite of owner-occupancy, canopy, and walk. It favors residential fabric with greener cover and some walkability. Ballantyne-style corridors may win owner and canopy but lose walk; Dilworth and Cotswold may balance walk at higher prices. Open profiles for your budget.
Schools on profiles
Spokes can list schools within about 2.5 miles of the centroid. Distance is not quality, and proximity is not assignment. Confirm feeders and magnets with CMS.
Commute and logistics
Map jobs and childcare before you pick a subdivision. South Charlotte jobs pull Ballantyne and Steele Creek; Uptown jobs may favor Dilworth, Myers Park, or Elizabeth at higher prices. Time a weekend loop: groceries, park, library, urgent care, one activity.
Budget and hazards
Use cost-of-living and affordable guides for a sales ceiling. Screen flood risk and read crime rates without treating either as a neighborhood pass/fail.
